Add a Book to Your Profile

Hello Breezers.

We know how overwhelming the SCBWI and Southern Breeze websites can be. So we have decided to bring you tutorials to help you navigate the websites and feel more at home.
This video will walk you through the steps to add/edit books to your profile.






You can follow Tracey M. Cox's channel so you will receive updates as she posts new tutorials. There is also a SCBWI channel. They upload videos periodically and you can subscribe to them also.

Navigating Your Personal Information on the SCBWI Website


Last week we covered the main page navigation. This week we will take a closer look at your "My Home" page and help familiarize the different functions.

To go to your personal page click on:
My Home (located in the top right-hand corner)

OBJECTIVE: 

This is where you will fill out your profile. Once you update, your information will be available for everyone to see.

TOP RIGHT-HAND CORNER:




  • Log Out button
    You can sign out of your session by clicking on this button.
  • My Home button
    This button will take you to your profile page.

TOP TOOL BAR:

This Purple Bar is the same one as on the main SCBWI.org's website and holds the same function.

LEFT SIDE BAR:


  • My Home
    This is your main page for you to navigate from in this section.
  • Edit Profile
    This is where you can make your changes on how everyone will be able to view your profile. You will be able to do several things:
    • Add a picture
    • Chose your professional roles
    • Add a current occupation
    • Fill in your 'About Me' section
    • Add 'My Contact Details' 
    • Add 'My Blog' information
    • Include an 'Artist Statement'
    • State your preferences for the Bulletin & if you would like to be included on the Speaker Bureau
Don't forget to SAVE your changes. :)
  • Profile PreviewThis will show you what your profile page will look like to everyone else. Click on "My Home" button or the back button to go back to your My Home page.
  • Messages
    Where you can send and receive messages
  • Discussion BoardsThe Blue Board - Great forum where writers and illustrators discuss all sorts of topics relating to the industry.
  • My Region
    This will take you to your current region's website. We will be going into depth on how to navigate Southern Breezes website next week.
  • Speaker Profile
    • The age levels you are available for
    • Travel distance
    • If you are willing to offer Skype visits
    • Email
    • Presentation description(s)
    • Video presentation
    • Contact email
  • Favorite Books
    Give a shout out to your favorite authors! List your favorites.
  • Favorite Illustrations
    Give a shout out to your favorite illustrators! List your favorites.
  • Change Password
    This is where you can change your password.
  • Event History
    Your events
  • Author Coalition Survey
    Survey you can choose to take part in.
  • Membership
    Need a new membership card? Print yours here.
  • Renew Now
    You can renew your membership at this link.
  • Web Badges
    Show on your website or blog that you are a proud SCBWI member!
  • View Crystal Kite
    Listing of previous years winners.

MIDDLE SECTION:


This is split into several sections. Here you will see the information you have completed and how others will be able to view that information. You will be able to change this with the "Edit Profile" link on the Left Side Bar OR by clicking "Edit".

Finding your way around a website can at times be challenging. A large organization's website, such as SCBWI, can be very helpful, yet overwhelming. So let's take a look at the SCBWI website to begin with.

Find out what is going on in SCBWI and use it to your benefit.

    Once you have joined the organization, you will sign-in here to have full access to the website.
