THE CURE FOR THE MID-YEAR DOLDRUMS

I don’t know about you, but this is the time of the year when I reality check my New Year’s Resolutions. Here we are almost half way through the year and I’ve yet to start and finish the next Hunger Games, or Harry Potter. My vow to get up at 5:00 am every morning for an hour of uninterrupted keyboard clacking was broken before Valentine’s Day, and I just haven’t seemed to be able to get myself back into the routine. Writing has not become the priority I promised myself it would be in 2015.

Well, fellow Breezers, if you’re suffering from the same lack of ability to focus, Southern Breeze has the just what you need to prod you back onto the path of writing righteousness in time for you to accomplish at least some of those pesky resolutions.  Join fellow SCBWI members in an unstructured, working weekend retreat July 16-19, 2015 at the historic Sacred Heart Monastery in Cullman, AL. With Check-in after 12:00 pm Thursday, July 16, 2015, and an extremely affordable meal plan, you can spend the long weekend dedicated to revising those pesky pages, originating an new book outline, doing writing exercises designed to jump-start your creativity, or whatever you have on that To-Do List that’s been shouting for attention from the back of your mind.

Just as importantly, you can exchange pages for feedback with other writers, and expand your connections. Need a critique group? Well, this mid-year retreat maybe the way to find those of like-genre and mind.

Come to Southern Breeze’s mid-summer retreat, and you’ll find the cure for the  mid-year doldrums is to get together with your tribe, make new friends, find new critique partners, and otherwise re-dedicate yourself to your writing so that when the Peach-ball drops at 12:00 am, January 1, 2016 you look back at 2015 as the year you got things done!
